Orienteering first appears as an option in the National Curriculum at Key Stage 2, and Plas Gwynant is an ideal venue to help satisfy this part of a pupil's education. We have a number of courses within our grounds, from classroom based exercises to score courses using the whole site.
There are also a number of other local courses of varying difficulty in some of the nearby forests that can challenge groups further. Groups find Plas Gwynant's orienteering courses to be fun and educational, and are often surprised at how well they can read maps when taught in a sympathetic, progressive manner.
