Secondary 7 day course

These courses, usually aimed at years 8 to 11, run from a Friday to Friday, thus giving students a week's residential experience. As with most Plas Gwynant courses, we do not operate a specific programme of activities, instead working towards the needs of each particular group in conjunction with the prevailing weather conditions. As such any two groups on the same course might enjoy a very different set of experiences, and could have taken part in a wide range of differing activities during the week.

The Plas Gwynant staff believe that this flexibility is an important part of our secondary courses, in order to address issues of group dynamics, and to be able to offers activities at the appropriate level for the individuals concerned.

The 7 day courses relate well to Key Stage 3 of the Outdoor and Adventurous Activities module within P.E., and the residential experience also allows staff to address Personal and Social Educational issues as they arise and in a very real environment.

These courses are ideal for schools that are unable to come on one of our longer Adventure Courses, and they reflect the lessened time and financial commitment of the longer courses.
